TIFR- Admission in integrated MSc and PHd course 2015

Tata Institute of fundamental and Research (TIFR) Deemed university is inviting the students who want to do PHd. For admission in Graduate School of Mumbai candidates can apply till 30 September. Admission will be based on the rank in Entrance Exam that will be held on 14 December 2014.In institute six subject are running for graduate program these subjects are - Physics, chemistry,Maths,Biology,Computer and System Sciences, and Science Education.
      Students can apply online and offline application form. For offline candidate can send a request with self addressed stamp of rupees 20 at the following campuses-
For Biology: Admissions Section, NCBS, Bangalore.
For other subjects, except Science Education: Universvity Cell , TIFR, Mumbai. 

Student can apply more then one application form but with separate DD. Student can appear in more then one written exam if both exam are not clashing.
Important Dates-
Last date for application:  September 30, 2014
Online payment link will be active upto October 6, 2014
DDs sent by post/courier will be accepted upto October 10, 2014
Hall Ticket download  from :  November 11, 2014
Entrance Examination:      Sunday, December 14, 2014
GATE Scored based applications to Systems Science (including Communications and Applied Probability):
Opens on : February 2, 2015
Closes on : Two weeks after the GATE 2015 results are displayed on their website.
Results of the Nationwide Entrance Examination: January 15, 2015 

Test Timings-Written Test will be held on two sessions.timing for these sessions are given below 
Morning Session: 09:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.:-
                                              Physics , Chemistry , Computer & Systems Sciences
 Afternoon Session: 02:30 p.m. to 04:30 p.m.:-
                                              Mathematics , Biology 

Examination Centres- Written Exam willl be held in various cities of India. Eligibility-
  • Mathematics: For Ph.D. (Mumbai): M.Sc./B.E./B.Tech./M.Tech./M.A./ B.A./B.Sc.
    For Ph.D. (Bengaluru): M.A./M.Sc./M.Tech.
    For I-Ph.D. (Bengaluru):
     B.A./B.Sc./B.E./B.Tech. degree holders.
  • Physics: For Ph.D.: M.Sc.(Physics)/B.Tech. (Engineering Physics)
    For I-Ph.D.
    : B.Sc./B.E./M.E./M.Tech./B.Chem. or equivalent degreee in Science / Engingeering / Medicine, M.Sc. (not in Physics)/B.Tech. (not in Engineering Physics). 
    In addition,I-Ph.D. candidates with four or more years of university education who clear the written test may be considered by TCIS for their Ph.D. program.Chemistry: For Ph.D.: M.Sc./B.E./B.Tech./M.Tech./B.Pharm./M.Pharm. B.Sc. candidates with advanced knowledge of the discipline are also eligible to apply.
  • Biology: For Ph.D.: Masters in Basic Science or Bachelors in Applied Science.  These include, M.Sc.(Ag.), B.Tech., B.E., B.V.Sc., B.Pharma. (4 years course), MBBS, BDS, M.Pharma.  Candidates will be short-listed for interview based on written test marks, CV and Scientific Writeup. For I-Ph.D./M.Sc.: Bachelors in any Basic Science.
    For Ph.D. Program in TCIS: M.Sc. in Physics, Chemistry or Biology. 
  • Computer & System Sciences (including Communications and Applied Probability):For Ph.D. : B.E./B.Tech./M.E./M.Tech./M.C.A./M.Sc./B.Sc.  degree holders in Computer Science / Information Technology / Electronics & Communications Engineering / Electrical Engineering.  Exceptionally well qualified students with B.E./B.Tech./ M.E./M.Tech./M.Sc./B.Sc. or equivalent degrees in other disciplines may also be considered.
Scholarship and Fees:-
Ph.D. Students receive a monthly scholarship of Rs 16,000/- (enhanced to Rs 18,000/- after registration) and an annual contingency grant of Rs 20,000/-, in addition to a tuition grant covering the annual fees.  The annual fee is Rs 4000/-.
I-Ph.D. (Mathematics/Physics/Biology) Students receive a monthly scholarship of Rs 16,000/- (enhanced to Rs 18,000/- from third year onwards, subject to passing the Comprehensive Exam/registration), in addition to a tuition grant covering the annual fees. 
M.Sc. (Biology) Students receive a monthly scholarship of Rs 12,000/- and the annual fee is Rs 2000/-.
